A Wondrous Gift

A blessed time, so long ago
The night of Jesus' birth
When angels sang a joyful choir-
Their message: "Peace on earth."
The moonlight turned the world to gold
And stars came out to see
The wonder here of God's true love,
His gift for you and me.
One star set out to travel far
With word long waited for:
"The child is born; He yearns for you.
Come follow and adore."

Humble shepherds and three kings, proud,
All journeyed to give praise.
With grateful hearts, they worshipped Him
Each in such different ways.
And now, not just at Christmastime,
His love will fill each heart
If we but show our brotherhood.
Lord, help us do our part.
Whatever season casts its spell
With Nature's beauty 'round,
How comforting for us to know
God's peace may still be found.
