JOB 7:11
The pastor of a church arrived to see that someone had put small
sign
with the simple message "JOB 7:11" on the bulletin board.
Assuming
that it was a scriptural word of encouragement he jotted it down and
went to look up the reference in his Bible. It read:
"Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of
my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul." (NRSV)
How terribly this person must be suffering he thought, as he wondered
if the sign was a cry for help. The next day he took his concerns to
another priest who explained...
"Oh, that was on the employment board," the priest smiled,
"There's a
job opening at the Seven-Eleven
